PIH Health Urgent Care Center in Whittier provides walk-in medical care for individuals and families dealing with non-life-threatening illnesses and injuries that need prompt attention but do not require an emergency room visit. Located at 15733 Whittier Blvd in Whittier, the center is conveniently accessible to residents throughout the surrounding communities, including La Mirada, making it a practical option when a same-day appointment with a primary care physician is unavailable or when symptoms arise unexpectedly.
The center is equipped to evaluate and treat a broad range of common medical concerns, including colds, flu, sore throats, ear infections, urinary tract infections, minor cuts and lacerations, sprains, fractures, and skin conditions. On-site diagnostic services such as X-rays and lab work allow providers to assess patients thoroughly during a single visit, reducing the need for referrals or follow-up appointments for routine diagnostic needs.
As part of the PIH Health system, this urgent care location benefits from the infrastructure and clinical standards of a well-established regional health network. Patients who already receive care through PIH Health providers can expect continuity of care, as visit records and test results are integrated into the broader health system. For those without an established provider, the center also offers a point of connection to primary care and specialist services within the PIH Health network.
The clinic is designed to serve working adults, parents with young children, seniors, and anyone who needs timely medical attention without the extended wait times typically associated with hospital emergency departments. For La Mirada residents looking for reliable, nearby medical care on their own schedule, PIH Health Urgent Care Center in Whittier represents a straightforward and trusted option worth keeping in mind.
Today took my 2 years old daughter with stomach pain. We got there around 1 pm. Asked what’s the estimate wait time. They said up to an hour. There was literally 4-5 patients before us, 2 of them kids. So o said yes. I had one more baby with me. We spent there 3 hours, because they would push us for 15 more minutes, then other 30 minutes, after an hour of wait. Then doctor left for a lunch, not sure if they only have one doctor..then other hour. So I’m alone with two hungry sick kids had to leave without doctors attention. No apologies, instead was “hey , lady, it’s Saturday, what did you expected “. So waist of time. Feel for my sick baby, who had to wait 3 hours for nothing
I have visited this Urgent Care many times for different reasons and they are always excellent. I like that their staff are approved by PIH. They have a higher standard than some urgent care facilities.
Had a bronchitis event which was taken care of efficiently and very effectively. Also Lorena, a wonderful nurse, cleaned and bandaged a scrap on my arm. Thank you and job well done. Good Urgent care if needed.
Went in with rib pain, I thought I broke my rib due to a fall. X-ray's showed maybe a fracture. Nurse practitioner refused any pain meds besides prescription ibuprofen. Said she never prescribed any other pain meds. She called me back and confirmed I indeed have a fractured rib. I called my primary Dr while I was in the room and told them what was happening so they prescribed pain meds.
The staff and physician provided exceptional service. I visited PIH Urgent Care on a Saturday at approximately 4 p.m., and they demonstrated remarkable attentiveness and efficiency, especially considering the presence of other patients. Their compassionate approach was also greatly appreciated. I highly recommend their services for anyone seeking reassurance regarding unusual symptoms.
