Biola Counseling Center is a professional mental health resource located at 12625 La Mirada Blvd, Suite 202, in the heart of La Mirada. Affiliated with Biola University, a well-established private Christian university with deep roots in Southern California, the center brings together trained counseling professionals and graduate-level clinicians to provide accessible, high-quality mental health services to the surrounding community.
The center offers individual, couples, and family counseling services, drawing on a team that is shaped by both clinical training and a faith-informed perspective. For residents who value a counseling approach that integrates psychological best practices with Christian values, the Biola Counseling Center provides a rare combination that can be difficult to find in a standard clinical setting. That said, the center welcomes individuals from all backgrounds who are simply looking for a caring, professional space to work through life’s challenges.
Because the center is connected to Biola University’s graduate programs in counseling and psychology, clients often have the opportunity to work with supervised graduate student therapists, which can also make services more affordable compared to private practice rates. This makes the center a particularly practical option for La Mirada families, individuals navigating major life transitions, students, or anyone who may have found traditional therapy financially out of reach.
Located just minutes from local neighborhoods and easily accessible along La Mirada Blvd, the center’s convenient location makes it a realistic option for residents who want consistent, ongoing care close to home. Whether someone is dealing with anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, grief, or simply the stress of everyday life, the Biola Counseling Center offers a thoughtful and structured environment to begin or continue the work of emotional and mental well-being. La Mirada residents looking for a counseling resource grounded in professional training and genuine care for the whole person would do well to reach out and learn more about available services.
My wife and I received pre-marriage counseling with Willa Williams at BCC for nearly a year. I can say with great confidence that our counseling sessions strengthened our marriage in ways that we likely would not have been able to reach without them. The communication skills we learned in our sessions with Willa were key in helping us grow and strengthen our relationship and one another. I'd highly recommend Biola Counseling Center to anyone looking for quality counseling. We also attended an 8-week (maybe it was 10 weeks?) pre-marriage counseling group session with two other couples that was also fruitful. If you're a Biola student, I believe one-on-one sessions are only $20-$30 a session. If you are not, it is up to the counselor you're seeing for their rates, I believe.
You have my prayerful support. Let me know if there's anything I can do to help.
