Located in Fullerton, the Muckenthaler Cultural Center operates as an arts and cultural institution offering a range of visual arts programming, educational opportunities, and community events. The center maintains gallery exhibition spaces, a sculpture garden, and a sunset garden, and hosts rotating exhibitions alongside a California Pottery Exhibition. Virtual exhibition tours and an archive of past exhibitions extend access to its programming beyond in-person visits.
Education is a significant part of what the center offers. Art classes, pop-up events, and programs such as MASC Camp, Parent & Me sessions, Anti Camp: Makers Studio, Night Camp, and S.M.A.R.T. Sundays serve a range of age groups and skill levels. The center also supports working artists through an Artist in Residence Program and offers professional development programming. A Pearl McMahon Scholarship Fund is available for those seeking financial assistance to participate in educational offerings.
For La Mirada residents, the Muckenthaler is a practical nearby destination for arts engagement, with Fullerton accessible via major local roadways. Families, students, independent artists, and general community members looking for cultural programming in the area will find a variety of entry points across visual arts, hands-on learning, and live events.
Nice concert venue, been going for years. The very best local acts, and often stops for some pretty good touring artists. Great place to watch & listen with a great PA and skilled sound & light operators. If it's a band you like, you are going to be pleased.
As a wedding photographer, I've had the pleasure of working at many beautiful venues, but the Muckenthaler Mansion truly stands out. This historic Spanish Revival estate offers an abundance of gorgeous backdrops, from the lush gardens to the charming architecture. Whether capturing the elegance of the Italian Gardens for a ceremony or the grandeur of the mansion’s interior for reception moments, every corner of this venue has its own unique beauty. The spacious grounds and versatile indoor and outdoor options give couples plenty of room to personalize their special day, and the venue’s classic charm creates a timeless feel for every wedding. The team at Muckenthaler Mansion is top-notch, ensuring a smooth experience for both vendors and guests. It's always a pleasure to photograph here, and I highly recommend this stunning venue to any couple looking to create unforgettable memories.
We chose The Muck as our wedding venue. Everyone loved it; us, our guest and vendors were amazed by it! The staff was amazing, so kind, professional and provided AMAZING service. They made our special day even more special. The venue was absolutely perfect. It is a gorgeous venue both inside and outside. We are so happy to have chosen such a gem of a venue and staff. Thank you to Sheree, Anthony, Colette Catering, The Muck and its staff, you truly made our night unforgettable.
The Fullerton Museum suggested we visit The Muck and on the spur of the moment, off we went. It was mid week and the parking lot was pretty empty. We walked around the wonderfully landscaped grounds (with many different sculptures) and walked around the house, built in 1924. We didn't see anyone on the grounds. We found an open door and proceeded to go inside. No one seemed to be insdie either. The house is all original with just a few furnishings. But this is also an art gallery. On display when we visited was art all by one artist - Cat Trevino. At the front desk, Michelle was very friendly and told us about the house and grounds and answered all our questions. She was very helpful and knows a lot about the house and grounds. This is now a cultural center and hosts a lot of musical events both inside and outside. This is also a popular wedding and event venue. I would definitely return to see a concert and other art shows.
I came down to the Asian ceramics event and have been so blessed with the center and the time and energy to maintain such a historical building. It has many beautiful lawn and shaded areas for artists or just enjoying the weather and view. I'm thankful for the opportunity to visit and look forward to a repeat visit .
